Ultrasonic Liposuction

Ultrasonic liposuction (also called UAL) uses high-pitched micro sound waves to make the fat liquid. After this step is done, the ultrasonic liposuction surgeon may remove the fat in the treated area. Ultrasonic liposuction is performed for removing fat in difficult areas of the body. It is mainly used for body contouring in addition with the tumescent liposuction surgery.

First of all, your ultrasonic liposuction surgeon will will inject tumescent fluid (salt water, anesthetic and epinephrine mixture) into the area that needs treatment. This procedure will make the fat deposits easier to remove and will also help the loss of fluids.

Then during the ultrasonic liposuction procedure, the removal of fat will be initiated by sound waves generated by a special device. The ultrasonic waves will be transferred to a tiny tube: the micro-cannula. When the tube comes into contact with the fat cells, they turn into liquid, and are easily removed.
